HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Basketball weekly award winners on Monday as Immaculata’s Carly Coleman was named Player of the Week and Marymount’s Chandler Eddleton was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Player of the Week: Carly Coleman
School: Immaculata
Class: Sophomore
Position: Forward
Hometown: Springfield, Pa.
High School: Cardinal O’Hara
Brief Outlook of Week: Coleman delivered another dominant two-way performance for Immaculata, compiling 37 points, 30 rebounds, eight assists, three blocked shots, and six steals across a pair of conference victories. The sophomore notched her 15th double-double of the season in Wednesday’s win over Marywood, pouring in 19 points while grabbing a career-high 19 rebounds and adding five assists. She followed that effort with her 16th double-double on Saturday against Centenary, finishing with 18 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots, and five steals to help secure the win.
Defensive Player of the Week: Chandler Eddleton
School: Marymount
Class: Fifth Year
Position: Guard
Hometown: Richmond, Va.
High School: Collegiate School
Brief Outlook of Week: In a 1-1 week for the Saints, Eddleton totaled 24 total rebounds, 16 of which were defensive, while nabbing six total steals and one block. The graduate student also averaged 18.0 points per game across the Saints' week of action, shooting 56% from the floor.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Erin Eisenhart, Gwynedd Mercy: Eisenhart remained the Griffins defensive stalwart as she recorded 19 points, 19 rebounds, three assists, one block, and four steals in a 1-1 week of conference play against Marymount and Neumann. In the win over the Saints, she totaled 12 points, nine rebounds, two assists, one block, and one steal, before grabbing 10 rebounds and three steals against the Knights.
Abby Grillo, Immaculata: Grillo’s two-way performance helped lead Immaculata to a pair of conference victories. Across the two wins, Grillo totaled 35 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and six steals, showcasing her impact on both ends of the floor. In Wednesday’s victory over Marywood, she recorded 16 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals. She followed that effort with 19 points, four rebounds, one assist, and three steals against Centenary.
Jess Aponik, Neumann: Aponik averaged 14.0 points in a 2-0 week for Neumann. In a 60-33 win over Pratt, the sophomore scored six points, dished out one assist, collected three rebounds and added both a steal and a block in 15 minutes of play. She followed with 22 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three blocks in a win over Gwynedd Mercy.
Ahjionae Cobb, Saint Elizabeth: Cobb had a strong week, highlighted by scoring her 1000th career point. In a home win against Centenary on Wednesday, Cobb had an impressive 20 point, seven assist, seven rebound performance. Against Marywood she posted 16 points and 5 rebounds en route to joining the 1000 point club.
Yasminah White, Saint Elizabeth: White collected seven steals and 10 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Eagles. Averaging 3.5 steals per game, she also grabbed five rebounds in both contests.
