HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Basketball weekly award winners on Monday with Marymount’s Catie Kolwey being named Player and Neumann’s Emily DuPont being named Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.
Player of the Week: Catie Kolwey
School: Marymount
Class: Junior
Position: Forward
Hometown: Hollywood, Md.
High School: Leonardtown
Brief Outlook of Week: Kolwey averaged 19.5 points per game, the Hollywood, Md. native had two double-doubles on the week, posting 11 rebounds in both outings alongside double-digit points. She shot 76% from the floor. Adding three blocks and two assists, Kolwey had an impressive week for the Saints against strong opponents.
Defensive Player of the Week: Emily DuPont
School: Neumann
Class: Graduate
Position: Forward
Hometown: Malvern, Pa.
High School: Great Valley
Brief Outlook of Week: DuPont averaged 19.0 and 7.5 rebounds in two games as Neumann went 1-2 for the week. In a 73-65 loss to Albright, the 5th year had 18 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks. She followed with 20 points and six steals in a 58-45 win at York (Pa.)
Weekly Honor Roll:
Carly Coleman, Immaculata: Coleman delivered an outstanding all-around week, totaling 52 points, 29 rebounds (18 defensive), 11 assists, six steals, and three blocks across three victories. She opened the week on December 1 at Alvernia, recording a double-double with 20 points, 13 rebounds (nine defensive), four assists, and two blocks. Coleman followed that performance with 21 points, seven rebounds, and two steals in a key win over previously unbeaten Widener on December 3. She closed the week by contributing 11 points, nine rebounds (five defensive), six assists, and a steal in a tight 61–59 road victory at Misericordia.
Olivia Ettorre, Immaculata: Ettorre totaled 62 points, shooting 49% from the field, 39% from three point range, while adding nine rebounds, two assists, and eight steals across the three victories. She opened the week on December 1 with a then-career-high 22 points in the road win at Alvernia, erupting for 11 fourth-quarter points to secure the comeback. Ettorre followed that effort with another standout performance on December 3, posting 17 points, two rebounds, and four steals as Immaculata handed previously unbeaten Widener its first loss of the season, scoring 10 points in the fourth quarter. Ettorre capped the week on Saturday by recording a new career-high 23 points, along with three steals in a 61–59 road win at Misericordia.
Anabela Jakelic, Pratt: In her lone appearance after missing Monday's contest, sophomore Anabela Jakelic pulled down 20 boards (12 offensive) and blocked two shots while playing 38 minutes against CCNY. She also had 17 points, helping Pratt to a near come-from-behind win over the Beavers.
Kylie Grant, Pratt: Grant averaged a double-double for the week with 17.0 points and 15.5 rebounds per game. Her week was highlighted by a monster 20-point, 20-rebound performance against CCNY, where she played all 40 minutes and nearly led the Cannoneers to a comeback victory. She opened the week with a 14-point, 11-rebound, 4-steal effort in a losing effort at Brooklyn.
Elyssa Russo, Saint Elizabeth: Russo was able to average 21 points on the week, grabbing 14 total rebounds, three assists, and had a 50% field goal, and went 40% from beyond the arc range.
