HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Baseball weekly award winners on Monday, with Immaculata’s Alex Tronosky being named Player of the Week and Saint Elizabeth’s Aidam Folsom being named Pitcher of the Week.
Player of the Week: Alex Tronosky
School: Immaculata
Class: Sophomore
Position: Catcher
Hometown: Medford, N.J.
High School: Shawnee
Brief Outlook of Week: Tronosky delivered an outstanding offensive performance across two games, going a combined 4-for-6 with one run scored and six RBIsAgainst Rowan on Tuesday, Tronosky reached base in both plate appearances, going 1-for-1 with an RBI single and a walk. He followed that up with a dominant showing in game two of Friday’s doubleheader, finishing 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, and four RBIs. Tronosky’s defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when he delivered a bases-clearing walk-off triple to cap a dramatic comeback from five runs down, securing a 9–8 victory for Immaculata.
Pitcher of the Week: Aidan Folsom
School: Saint Elizabeth
Class: Senior
Position: Pitcher
Hometown: Beachwood, N.J.
High School: Toms River South
Brief Outlook of Week: Folsom made history for the Eagles in what was a very dominant week for the righty. Folsom had two appearances for the Eagles, with 7 Ks across 4.2 innings pitched, for one save. Folsom was able to pick up his 100th career strikeout, a first in St. Elizabeth program history.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Nick Santacross, Centenary: Santacross batted a .625 with five RBI’s, and four runs scored. He also recorded six stolen bases.
Landon Glovas, Gwynedd Mercy: Glovas carried a no-hitter into the 7th inning of a 13-0 win versus Rosemont College. He walked two and struck out seven, while recording 20 outs, in the win.
Thomas Desarno, Immaculata: Desarno delivered a standout performance on the mound after leading Immaculata to a 4–0 victory over Marywood in the opening game of a doubleheader sweep. Desarno threw a complete-game shutout, allowing just three hits while striking out three.
Quincy Via, Marymount: Senior outfielder Quincy Via batted .625 over the course of the Saints' 3-1 week, including an upset over #14 Christopher Newport. Knocking 10 hits with a double, triple, and home run, Via slugged at 1.000, while getting on base at a .700 clip. On the basepaths, Via stole eight bags through the week.
Noah Trager, Marywood: Trager threw six scoreless innings in a no-decision against Immaculata. During the Pacers' 2-0 victory over the Mighty Macs, Trager allowed just four hits and one walk over six frames. He struck out three. Trager limited Immaculata to a .222 opposing batting average.
Jackson Armiger, Neumann: Armiger hit .500 (8-for-16) as Neumann went 3-2 overall and 2-1 in conference action. In an 8-7 walk-off win over Rutgers-Camden, the first year went 4-for-4, knocked in two and scored three, including the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Chris Valencia, Saint Elizabeth: Valencia went 6-for-9 on the week (.667), with a triple, a home run, two RBI’s, and four runs scored on the week.
