HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Baseball weekly award winners on Monday, with Gwynedd Mercy’s Noah Waldron being named Player of the Week and Cam Leighton of Neumann being named Pitcher of the Week.

Player of the Week: Noah Waldron
School: Gwynedd Mercy
Class: Junior
Position: Outfield
Hometown: Collingswood, N.J.
High School: Collingswood
Brief Outlook of Week: Gwynedd's leadoff man did just that this week as he went 4-for-8 with a walk, four runs, and six RBI’s. Waldron fell a single shy of the cycle in a 16-2, 7-inning win over Suffolk University with a double in the third, a three-run homerun in the fifth, and a triple in the seventh; he scored four runs and knocked in five in the victory.

Pitcher of the Week: Cam Leighton
School: Neumann
Class: Senior
Position: Pitcher
Hometown: Newark, Del.
High School: Newark Charter
Brief Outlook of Week: Leighton went 1-0 in two relief appearances as Neumann opened the season 4-1. In 5.0 innings pitched, he allowed three hits, no earned runs, and struck out four. In his first appearance, the senior pitched a 1-2-3 inning against Elmira and struck out one. He followed with 4.0 innings and picked up an 11-7 11-inning win over St. Joseph’s – Long Island. He allowed one unearned run on three hits and struck out three.
 

Weekly Honor Roll:
Michael Inglisa, Gwynedd Mercy: Inglisa earned his second win of the season with six strong innings against Suffolk University. The Griffins defeated the Rams in a 16-2, 7-inning blowout, while Inglisa allowed an unearned run on five hits and a walk, striking out four.

Domnovan Brooks, Neumann: Brooks hit .538 (7-for-13) in four games as Neumann opened the season 4-1. The junior scored eight runs, knocked in two, drew three walks and was hit by the pitch five times. He was also 10-for-10 in stolen bases. In an 11-7 win over St. Joseph’s Long Island, he went 3-for-4, scored three runs and stole six bases. His six steals are a single-game record for the Knights.
