HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Baseball weekly award winners on Monday, with Marywood’s Cam Bott being named Player of the Week and Neumann’s Alex Gambol being named Pitcher of the Week.
Player of the Week: Cam Bott
School: Marywood

High School: Patuxent
Brief Outlook of Week: Bott helped Marywood to three victories with a .667 batting average and .750 on-base percentage. In a 12-8 win over Stockton, he went 2 for 4 with two runs and an RBI. Bott reached three times in a 9-5 win over Saint Elizabeth. In the nightcap of the doubleheader, he batted 3 for 4 with two runs. Bott stole a base in all three games this week.
Pitcher of the Week: Alex Gambol
School: Neumann
Class: Freshman
Position: Pitcher
Hometown: Woolwich, N.J.
High School: Salesianum
Brief Outlook of Week: Gambol went 1-0 on the mound and picked up a save as the Knights went 3-1 on the week, 2-1 in conference action. The first year started against Saint Elizabeth and went 6.0 innings, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out six. Gambol followed with his first collegiate save in a 3-1 win at Marymount. He went 2.1 innings, allowing just one hit and striking out three.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Jimmy DeCarlo, Gwynedd Mercy: DeCarlo continues to power the Red and Gold line-up; he knocked in four runs and scored another with walk and a 5-for-11 showing at the plate. He plated two runs in a 9-8 win over Cairn University with a third-inning single and plated two more in a 4-3 (10) win over Centenary University with a ground-out to third and a single to left field in the fifth.
Ryan Kasper, Gwynedd Mercy: Kasper was the benefactor of two walk-off wins this week. He earned victories against Cairn University (W, 1.0IP, 1K) and Centenary University (NJ) (W, 1.2IP, 3BB, 1K) with a pair of ninth-inning relief appearances.
Anthony Spungin, Centenary: Spungin threw a complete game, striking out 8 en route to an 11-1 victory over Gwynedd Mercy. The junior allowed one earned run on eight hits, walking none.
Alex LePage, Immaculata: LePage earned the win for Immaculata in Thursday’s victory over Cairn, delivering a dominant performance on the mound. He tossed five scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while striking out seven.
Nick Turnage, Immaculata: Turnage put together a strong three-game stretch for Immaculata, finishing 5-for-9 at the plate with two runs scored, one double, and five RBIs. He opened the week with an impressive 3-for-5 performance against Penn State Abington on Tuesday, recording a run scored, a double, and two RBIs. Turnage followed with an RBI against Swarthmore on Wednesday, then closed out the week by going 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs in Immaculata’s win over Cairn on Thursday.
Ben Smallwood, Marymount: Smallwood followed up his complete game outing against Immaculata last week with yet another complete gain against Neumann. Tossing 7.0 innings and allowing just three earned runs, the right-hander allowed just two earned runs while striking out three. He improved his record on the year to 3-0, sporting a 1.67 ERA.
Quincy Via, Marymount: Senior outfielder Quincy Via slugged .714 with a double and a home run last week, his first round tripper of the season. Driving in a pair of RBI, Via added two stolen bags to remain a threat on the base paths. Through the week, he had a slash line of .429/.429/714.
Noah Trager, Marywood: Trager earned a save with a 2.25 ERA across four innings and two relief appearances. He threw a scoreless inning in a victory over Stockton. Trager notched a three-inning save, striking out four and allowing a run in a 9-5 win over Saint Elizabeth. He kept opposing hitters to a .214 batting average.
Anthony Rakotz, Neumann: Rakotz hit .412 (7-for-17) and had at least one hit in each game as Neumann went 3-1 overall and 2-1 in conference action. To open the week against Saint Elizabeth, the junior had a hit, knocked in a run and scored three runs. In a 9-8 win at Albright, Rakotz went 4-for-5 with a double, run scored and RBI. He picked up a hit in each game as the Knights split a doubleheader at Marymount.
Aidan Folsom, Saint Elizabeth: Folsom was able to deliver a strong performance against Marywood, going 5.0 innings in relief, striking out three hitters along the way and not surrendering any earned runs.
Sam Porch Jr., Saint Elizabeth: Porch was a driving for the Eagles, starting in all 3 games for the Eagles this past week. Batting .455 (5 for 11), driving in a pair, with a double, swiping two bags for the Eagles vs. Marywood and Neumann.
