Centenary's Schulberg and Marymount's Smallwood Awarded Baseball Weekly Award Honors

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Baseball weekly award winners on Monday, with Centenary’s Cole Schulberg being named Player of the Week and Marymount’s Ben Smallwood being named Pitcher of the Week.

Player of the Week: Cole Schulberg
School: Centenary
Class: Sophomore
Position: First Baseman/Catcher
Hometown: Skillman, N.J.
High School: Montgomery High
Brief Outlook of Week: Schulberg had a dominant week at the plate, going 4-for-6 (.667), with 7RBIs, 3 runs scored, 1 double, a grand slam, and a stolen base to help the Cyclones go 1-1 on the week. Schulberg also had 17 putouts in the field with 0 errors. 

Pitcher of the Week: Ben Smallwood
School: Marymount
Class: Junior
Position: Pitcher
Hometown: Fairfax, Va.
High School: Woodson
Brief Outlook of Week: Smallwood tossed a complete game to open the series against Marywood on Friday evening. Allowing just one earned run on 105 pitches, the junior struck out three while allowing just four hits and no walks. 
 

Weekly Honor Roll:
Jimmy DeCarlo, Gwynedd Mercy: DeCarlo 8-for-18 with 3 walks this week, scoring twice and knocking in 8 Griffins in a 1-3 week that included a hard-fought 7-6 loss at #7 Salisbury University and a 17-3 game-one win versus Immaculata University. He went 3-for-5 with a walk, a run, and 5 RBI in the win over the Mighty Macs.  

Stephen Devanney, Immaculata: Devanney delivered a strong outing on the mound to lead Immaculata to a 7–1 victory in game two of Saturday’s AEC doubleheader against Gwynedd Mercy. He pitched 6.2 innings, allowing five hits and one run (zero earned) while striking out five, helping Immaculata secure the series win.

Seth Sadler, Marymount: Sadler hit at a .400 clip across Marymount's week of action, driving in nine total RBI. Knocking a pair of doubles, one triple, and a home run, the sophomore slugged .867 to showcase strong power at the plate.

Cam Bott, Marywood: Bott batted .421 with five runs, four extra base hits and four RBIs over five games. In a 19-6 comeback win over King's, he went 3 for 4 with a pair of triples and four RBIs. Bott scattered three hits with two runs scored in Marywood's 8-2 victory over Marymount. 

Anthony Rakotz, Neumann: Rakotz hit .438 in four games with seven hits, two doubles, five runs scored and two RBI as Neumann went 2-1-1 overall and 2-0 in conference action. He also stole four bases and walked three times. Six of the junior’s hits came in a sweep of Saint Elizabeth. In a 15-1 win in game two, Rakotz went 4-for-5 with two doubles, and three runs scored.
