Matthews, Aungst Gather Women's Basketball Weekly Honors
LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the women's basketball weekly awards on Monday afternoon, as Cabrini University's Meghan Matthews was named Player of the Week and Marywood University's Aryah Aungst earned Defensive Player of the Week.

Brief Outlook of Week: Matthews continued hot play since returning to the lineup as the veteran totaled 32 points, 19 rebounds, eight assists and three blocks in a pair of Cavalier victories this week. The senior posted 18 points and five rebounds in just 20 minutes against Immaculata and followed it up with a 14 point, 14 rebound double-double against Neumann on Saturday afternoon. On the season, Matthews is averaging 4.5 assists per game, ranking her atop the conference leaderboard.
Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Aryah Aungst
School: Marywood University

Hometown: Downingtown, Pa.
High School: Downingtown East
Brief Outlook of Week: Aungst averaged 17.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game to lead the Pacers to a pair of Atlantic East Conference victories. She led a fourth-quarter comeback with 18 points and 13 rebounds in a 67-65 win over Immaculata. After playing just six minutes in the first half, Aungst tallied 16 points and 12 boards in the second half alone. She was the Pacers' leading scorer with 17 points and eight rebounds in a road win over Neumann. Aungst had five assists in both games.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Denise Sacco (Gwynedd Mercy / Senior / Guard): Sacco posted a career-high 23 points in the Griffin win over Wesley. The senior connected on seven three pointers shooting 58% from beyond the arc for the game. Sacco finished the week with 32 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and three assists through two games.
Ashley Tutzauer (Cabrini / Junior / Guard): Tutzauer was a force on the defensive side of the court for the Cavs as the junior totaled 10 rebounds, eight steals and three blocks, in addition to 29 points, across the Cavs' two victories. The junior highlighted her week with a 16 points, six steal and two block effort against Neumann University on Saturday afternoon. Her 55 steals on the season are currently tied for the most in the AEC.
Katie McShea (Marymount / Sophomore / Forward): McShea led Marymount to a record-setting win over Wesley, setting the program record for points allowed in the 68-15 win. McShea led the team with 23 points, while adding five rebounds and four steals.
