Lannon, Rigo Earn Women's Basketball Players of the Week
LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the women's basketball weekly awards on Monday afternoon, naming Cabrini University's Kate Lannon the Player of the Week for the third-straight week and Immaculata University's Brielle Rigo the Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Brief Outlook of Week: Lannon helped lead the Cavaliers to a pair of conference victories over Neumann University and Marymount University this past week. The junior tallied a game-high 23 points, while adding four rebounds and three assists against the rival Knights, and followed it up with a team-best 18 points and five rebounds against the Saints. On top of 41 points, she totaled four assists, two blocks shots, nine rebounds, a steal, and just one turnover. Following the pair of victories, the Blue and White take sole possession of first place in the Atlantic East.
Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Brielle Rigo
School: Immaculata University

Brief Outlook of Week: Rigo had an impressive week for Immaculata, as the junior accounted for 28 points over the course of two games while also coming away with 36 rebounds including 26 on the defensive end of the floor. On Monday evening in the Macs first game since December 21st, Rigo played well registering 18 rebounds including 12 on the defensive glass while also coming away with five assists and eight points to lead Immaculata to the victory over Penn State-Brandywine to wrap up non-conference play. On Wednesday evening in the Macs Atlantic East opener, Rigo recorded 18 rebounds with 14 of those boards coming on the defensive glass to once again tie her career high for rebounding before setting a new career-high in scoring with 20 points thanks to an impressive 9-of-11 shooting performance from the field. For the week, Rigo averaged 14 points and 18 rebounds per game to lead Immaculata to a pair of victories.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Katie McShea (Marymount / Sophomore / Forward): McShea led Marymount to a 1-1 week in Atlantic East play, tallying her ninth double-double of the year in an 88-28 win over Wesley on Wednesday, with 22 points and 11 rebounds. She scored 22, again, in the Saints' loss to Cabrini on Saturday, while pulling down nine rebounds in the game. McShea added one steal in each game, as well.
Kelly Owens (Gwynedd Mercy / Freshman / Guard): Owens scored a career high 19 points on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc in the Griffins win over Penn State-Harrisburg. The Freshman also connected on three triples against Marywood for 11 points to stretch the Griffins winning streak to four games and winning their Atlantic East opener against the Pacers.
Aryah Aungst (Marywood / Senior / Guard): Aungst averaged a double-double for the week with 22 points and 13.67 rebounds per game. Aungst steered an 18-point second half comeback over Penn College with a career-high 26 point effort. After making just two points by halftime, Aungst shot 10 of 18 for 24 points in the second half alone. She posted 22 points, 14 rebounds and five assists in an Atlantic East setback to Immaculata. The senior guard capped the week by adding 19 rebounds and 18 points against Gwynedd Mercy, registering the sixth-most single-game rebounds in school history. Aungst had seven steals and two blocks for the week.
