McShea, Rigo Collected Women's Basketball Weekly Accolades

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women's Basketball Players of the Week on Monday afternoon, as Marymount University's Katie McShea was named Player of the Week and Immaculata University's Brielle Rigo earned Defensive Player of the Week.

Player of the Week:
Name: Katie McShea
School: Marymount University
Class: Sophomore
Position: Forward
Hometown: Hainesport, N.J.
High School: Bishop Eustace Prep
Brief Outlook of Week: McShea helped lead Marymount to a 2-0 week to stay undefeated to start the season, at 5-0. She posted two double-doubles in wins over Salisbury and No. 8 Messiah. McShea tallied 24 points and 10 rebounds agains the Sea Gulls, while gathering one steal. Against the Falcons, she added 13 points and 12 rebounds, for her third-straight double-double. She was strong on the offensive glass in both games, pulling down seven offensive boards in each game. For the week, she totaled 37 points on 47-percent shooting, 22 rebounds, a steal, and an assist. 

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Brielle Rigo
School: Immaculata University
Class: Junior
Position: Forward
Hometown: Northampton, Pa.
High School: Northampton
Brief Outlook of Week: Rigo had a strong week defensively for both victories against Cairn and Wilson. Against Cairn on Wednesday evening, Rigo ended her night with 14 points and nine rebounds while also coming away with a pair of steals to help lead Immaculata in the victory. Additionally, none of the players that Rigo guarded throughout the evening were able to eclipse the 10-point plateau. On Saturday afternoon, Rigo came away with 10 rebounds including seven on the defensive glass while also registering four steals. 

Weekly Honor Roll:
Jill Kane (Gwynedd Mercy / Junior / Guard): Kane led the Griffins with seven steals for the week. The junior also added seven three pointers as well recording 16 points against Arcadia and 11 against Moravian for a 27-point week on 42-percent shooting.

Ashley Tutzauer (Cabrini / Junior / Guard): Tutzauer paced the Cavalier offense with a total of 36 points across their two games as the junior netted 12 points on the road at Elizabethtown and then led the Cavs with a game-high 24 points in their 74-65 victory over NYU. She added a total of 11 rebounds, six assists and five steals to round out the box score. 

Shannon Kelly (Immaculata / Junior / Guard): Kelly had a strong week for the Mighty Macs this week as the junior guard led the team in scoring in a pair of victories this week over Cairn on Wednesday and Wilson on Saturday afternoon. On Wednesday evening vs Cairn, Kelly caught fire as she shot a blistering 7-of-11 from the field while also going 2-of-3 from deep and a perfect 4-for-4 from the stripe to end the evening with a game-high 20 points. Kelly also chipped in four rebounds and three steals to lead the Macs in the victory. On Saturday afternoon at Wilson, she added 16 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the field while going a perfect 4-for-4 from the line in the victory. She also ended the contest with three rebounds, a pair of assists, and a steal to help lead the Mighty Macs.
