HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Lacrosse weekly award winners on Monday as Gwynedd Mercy’s Landen Ciran was named Player of the Week and Marymount’s Connor Howard was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Player of the Week: Landen Ciran
School: Gwynedd Mercy
Class: Sophomore
Position: Midfielder
Hometown: Ephrata, Pa.
High School: Ephrata
Brief Outlook of Week: Ciran was the Griffins' primary scorer in a 15-7 win over AEC rival Neumann, scoring six goals on 21 shots. He put 14 of his 21 shots on-goal, recording a career-high in goals, shots, and shots-on-goal.
Defensive Player of the Week: Connor Howard
School: Marymount
Class: Freshman
Position: Goalie
Hometown: North Wales, Pa.
High School: North Penn
Brief Outlook of Week: Howard earned the win in the net for the Saints on Saturday, allowing just four goals and swatting away 11 saves in 25 shots faced. He posted a .733 save percentage.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Jude Azzarano, Immaculata: Azzarano scored three goals, with one assist, and added five ground balls in Immaculata's game vs Montclair State on Wednesday.
James Elko, Marymount: Elko sank three goals and added an assist in Marymount's win over Marywood on Saturday. He added six total ground balls to his line to lead the way in the strong conference win.
