HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Lacrosse weekly award winners on Monday as Jason Smaron of Immaculata was named Player of the Week and Matthew Ludlow was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Brief Outlook of Week: Smaron recorded a combined five goals and three assists, for eight points, along with five ground balls and two caused turnovers, helping lead Immaculata to a pair of Atlantic East Conference victories. Smaron tallied one goal, two assists, and three points in the win at Marywood, coupled with a strong performance in Saturday’s conference win over Gwynedd Mercy, finishing with four goals, one assist, five points, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers.
Defensive Player of the Week: Matthew Ludlow
School: Immaculata
Class: Senior

High School: Upper Moreland
Brief Outlook of Week: Ludlow was outstanding in net for Immaculata, recording a combined 33 saves and seven ground balls, posting a .767 save percentage. Ludlow made 13 saves and collected one ground ball in a win at Marywood on Wednesday. He followed that performance with 20 saves and six ground balls in Immaculata’s conference win over Gwynedd Mercy at home on Saturday afternoon. The senior sits fifth in the nation with an average save percentage of .655 on the season.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Joe Oriold, Gwynedd Mercy: Oriold captained the Red and Gold defense in a 12-5 loss to AEC rival Immaculata University with four ground balls and five caused turnovers.
Ian Fructuoso, Marymount: Fructuoso posted five points, four goals and an assist, in Marymount's win over Neumann last week. The senior attack added a trio of ground balls and a caused turnover to his credit in the conference win.
Winston Horshaw II, Marymount: Horshaw II went near-perfect at faceoff in Marymount's win over Neumann, going 18-21 for a .857 face off percentage in the game. The sophomore picked up a total of 11 ground balls to keep possession to Marymount and lead to the conference win. He currently sits sixth in the nation with a .730 face off win percentage.
Luke Ament, Marywood: Ament won 35-of-42 faceoff attempts for a .833 winning percentage in a pair of Atlantic East games. The sophomore faceoff specialist picked up 25 ground balls. In an 8-5 loss to Immaculata, he won 14 of 17 faceoffs (.824) with nine ground balls. Ament won 84 percent of faceoffs with a season-high 16 ground balls in a 15-9 victory over Neumann. Ament scored his first goal of the season versus the Knights.
Osten Grigas, Marywood: Grigas had five goals and five ground balls to lead Marywood to a 1-1 week in Atlantic East play. He found the net twice in the Pacers' 8-5 hard-fought loss to the defending champion Mighty Macs. Grigas netted a hat trick in Marywood's 15-9 win at Neumann.
