Marymount's Elko and Immaculata's Ludlow Take Home Men's Lacrosse Weekly Award Honors

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Lacrosse weekly award winners on Monday as Marymount’s James Elko was named Player of the Week and Immaculata’s Matthew Ludlow was named Defensive Player of the Week.

School: Marymount
Class: Graduate
Position: Attack
Hometown: Purcellville, Va.
High School: Loudoun County
Brief Outlook of Week: Elko picked up 12 total points last week, on eight goals and four assists, shooting at a .444 percentage. As the Saints went 1-1, the attackman added a caused turnover and four ground balls to his credit. Of his eight goals, four were unassisted.

Defensive Player of the Week: Matthew Ludlow
School: Immaculata
Class: Senior
Position: Goalie
Hometown: Willow Grove, Pa.
High School: Upper Moreland
Brief Outlook of Week: Ludlow posted  31 saves on 86 shots faced, with nine ground balls, over two games for Immaculata. He made 14 saves on 43 shots faced, and added seven ground balls in Immaculata's 13-10 win over Aurora on Wednesday afternoon. The senior then made 17 saves on 43 shots faced, with two ground balls, at Lebanon Valley on Saturday.  On the week, he posted a .620 save percentage.


Weekly Honor Roll:
Landen Ciran, Gwynedd Mercy: Ciran recorded a team-high six points (three goals, three assists) and four ground balls in a 23-2 home victory over.

Joe Oriold, Gwynedd Mercy: Oriold led the Griffins defensively in a 23-2 win over Cairn with seven ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Jason Smaron, Immaculata: Smaron had a combined four goals and four assists for Immaculata over two games this week. He scored two goals and added three assists for five points in Immaculata's 13-10 come-from-behind win over Aurora on Wednesday, following up with two goals and an assist on Saturday at Lebanon Valley.

Kane Otto, Marymount: The long stick midfielder, Otto, notched five total caused turnovers across a pair of games last week for the Saints, adding eight ground balls to his credit. 

Luke Ament, Marywood: Ament went 28-for-38, a .737 faceoff percentage, during a two-game swing in Virginia Beach. He finished the week with 18 ground balls.
