Gwynedd Mercy's Citrigno and Immaculata's Ludlow Secure Men's Lacrosse Weekly Awards Honors

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Lacrosse weekly award winners on Monday as Gwynedd Mercy’s Nick Citrigno was named Player of the Week and Immaculata’s Matthew Ludlow was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Player of the Week: Nick Citrigno
School: Gwynedd Mercy
Class: Senior
Position: Attack
Hometown: Southampton, Pa.
High School: Archbishop Wood
Brief Outlook of Week: Citrigno totaled 11 points (eight goals, three assists), a ground ball, and a caused turnover in wins over Albright and Lycoming. Against the Lions he recorded a career-high seven points off six goals and one assist, before totaling four points, from two goals and two assists, a ground ball, and a caused turnover at Lycoming.

Defensive Player of the Week: Matthew Ludlow
School: Immaculata
Class: Senior
Position: Goalie
Hometown: Willow Grove, Pa.
High School: Upper Moreland
Brief Outlook of Week: Ludlow recorded 18 saves and collected six ground balls to lead Immaculata to a 7-6 victory over Saint Vincent College in the team’s home opener on Saturday. He posted a .750 save percentage, recording 18 total saves.


Weekly Honor Roll:
Jake Tedeschi, Gwynedd Mercy: Tedeschi was 23-of-30, going .767 in the circle, with 10 ground balls and one caused turnover in wins over Albright and Lycoming.

Jason Smaron, Immaculata: Smaron played a pivotal role in leading Immaculata to a win in their home opener on Saturday afternoon. He finished the game with one goal and two assists for the Mighty Macs. His most crucial contribution came in the closing moments of the fourth quarter, when he scored the game-winning goal with just 9.6 seconds remaining.

Drew Bedard, Marymount: Sophomore Bedard netted four goals in Marymount's contest against Bridgewater College on Saturday. Adding a pair of ground balls and a caused turnover, the attack had six shots on goal in total for a .667 shot percentage.

Luke Ament, Marywood: Ament won 15 of 18 faceoffs for an 83.3 percent success rate in the Pacers' 9-6 win over Wilkes. Ament finished with 15 ground balls. His faceoff victories propelled Marywood to score four unanswered goals in the last 16 minutes to come back to beat the Colonels.
