LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women's Basketball Players of the Week on Tuesday as Gwynedd Mercy sweeps the awards. Elise Sylvester and Haley Crossley were named Player and Defensive Player of the Week respectively.

 

Player of the Week:
Name: Elise Sylvester
School: Gwynedd Mercy
Class: Senior
Position: Guard
Hometown: Pottstown, Pa.
High School:  Pope John Paul II
Brief Outlook of Week: Sylvester had a career high for Gwynedd Mercy with 22 points in their win over Marywood. The senior tacked on eight rebounds and four assists in 1-0 week for the Griffins.  

 

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Haley Crossley
School: Gwynedd Mercy
Class: Senior
Position: Forward
Hometown: Philadelphia, Pa.
High School:  William Tennent
Brief Outlook of Week:  Crossley finished with a team high 12 rebounds in the 1-0 week for Gwynedd Mercy. The senior also tallied two blocks and two steals. The Griffins held Marywood to just 56 points with a strong defensive effort.

 

Weekly Honor Roll:

Chandler Eddleton (Jr., Forward, Marymount): Eddleton recorded five steals and grabbed 17 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the Saints. Marymount sits in first place in the conference standings with a 4-0 record.

Miranda Liebtag (Sr., Guard/Forward, Cabrini): Liebtag finished the 2-0 week with an average of 16 points and five rebounds. The senior was 10-for-13 from the field in the win over Immaculata as she tallied 24 points in the contest. Liebtag also added 2.5 assists, one steal, and one block per game for the week.
