LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women's Basketball Players of the Week on Monday, as Brie Opdyke of Centenary earned Player of the Week and Marymount's Ava Achtyl was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Brief Outlook of Week: The transfer from RVCC had a career day for the Cyclones versus FDU Florham. Opdyke led Centenary to their highest scoring output of the season, 95 points. The Junior led Centenary with 31 points on 13-of-15 from the field (87%). On top of her offensive output, Brie added 3 steals, 3 rebounds and 2 assists.
Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Ava Achtyl
School: Marymount University
Class: Sophomore
Position: Forward
Hometown: Lancaster, N.Y.
High School: St. Mary's
Brief Outlook of Week: Achtyl put up strong defensive numbers for the Saints over the last week, helping them to go 2-0. The sophomore knocked away four shots and grabbed three steals in the game versus Shenandoah, while grabbing four defensive boards against the Blue Jays of Johns Hopkins.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Chandler Eddleton (Sr., F, Marymount): Eddleton gave the Saints the edge they needed to go 2-0 over strong opponents last week. In a Sunday win over Johns Hopkins, the guard notched a double-double with 26 points and 10 rebounds, a season high in the points category. She went 8-for-10 from the floor, while going 10-13 from the stripe. She added eight rebounds and nine points in the win over the Hornets of Shenandoah University earlier in the week.
Lauren Klieber (So., G, Neumann): Lauren Klieber continues to lead the Knights, netting 23 points and 10 rebounds in the only game for Neumann last week. The sophomore went a perfect 11-for-11 from the line in the last minute 69-65 loss to Widener. Over the first six games of the season, Klieber is averaging 24.0 ppg, which ranks tied for seventh in DIII.
