Marymount's Eddleton & Shackelford Sweep Women's Basketball Weekly Awards

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women's Basketball Players of the Week on Monday for the last week of games. Marymount sweeps weekly awards after a 2-0 week as Eddleton and Shackelford earn Player and Defensive Player of the week honors respectively.

Player of the Week:
Name: Chandler Eddleton
School: Marymount
Class: Junior
Position: Forward
Hometown: Richmond, Va.
High School:  Collegiate School
Brief Outlook of Week: Eddleton led the Saints to a 2-0 start to conference play by averaging 26.0 ppg and 8.5 rpg. Cabrini and Gwynedd Mercy were predicted to finish second and third in the conference behind Marymount. For the week, the junior shot 50 percent from the field and went 18-26 from the charity stripe. In a 65-56 overtime win over Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday, she scored a career high 29 points. Eddleton also tallied 2.5 assists per game two steals per game, and a block per game.
 

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Symantha Shackelford
School: Marymount
Class: Senior
Position: Guard
Hometown: Woodbridge, Va.
High School:  Bishop Ireton
Brief Outlook of Week:  Shackelford helped the Saints to a 2-0 start in conference play with a strong defensive effort. Cabrini and Gwynedd Mercy were predicted to finish second and third in the conference behind Marymount. For the week, she averaged 2.5 steals per game and seven rebounds per game. On Saturday against the Griffins, Shackelford and the Saints held GMU without a bucket for the first 7:20 of the game and allowed only 48 points in regulation.
 

Weekly Honor Roll:

Olivia Ciullo (So., Guard, Marywood): Ciullo averaged 23.5 points and 11 rebounds per game to lead Marywood in a 1-1 week against Atlantic East competition. She scored 27 points and 14 rebounds in a victory over Centenary. Ciullo had 20 points and eight rebounds against Neumann. For the week she averaged 51.5 shooting going 17-of33 from the field and 92.9% from the line making 13-of-14 attempts.

Terea Hunt (Sr., Forward, Neumann): Hunt averaged 11.5 points and seven rebounds in a 2-0 week for Neumann, 1-0 in the start of conference action. In a 79-56 win over Penn State Brandywine, Hunt tallied 11 points, four rebounds, and two steals. To start Atlantic East action, hunt notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards in a 77-68 win over Marywood. The senior added four assists, two steals, and two blocks.

Abigail Lentowski (So., Forward, Immaculata): Lentowski came off the bench to score 28 points with 13 rebounds in 24 minutes vs. Gwynedd Mercy on January 4 and came off the bench to score 18 points and eight rebounds vs. Centenary on January 7th. The sophomore added 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks per game on the week.
