Men's Lacrosse 3/28/2022 11:41:18 AM McManus, Reed Tabbed Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week Lancaster, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men's Lacrosse weekly honors on Monday, as Cabrini University's Dillon McManus was named Offensive Player of the Week while Marywood University's Connor Reed earned Defensive Player of the Week. Offensive Player of the Week: Name: Dillon McManus School: Cabrini University Class: Junior Position: Attack Hometown: Dix Hills, NY High School: Half Hollows Hills West Brief Outlook of Week: McManus totaled 6 goals and 3 assists in leading the Cavaliers to a pair of wins last week. In Cabrini's 12-11 win over Colorado College, the junior tallied 5 point son 3 goals and 2 assists, along with a pair of ground balls.McManus followed that with a 4 goal performance (3 goals, 1 assist) in Saturday's Battle for Eagle Road 16-12 victory over Eastern. Defensive Player of the Week: Name: Connor Reed School: Marywood University Class: Senior Position: GK Hometown: Abington, PA High School: Abington Brief Outlook of Week: Reed made 41 saves, allowing just 11 goals, in a pair of wins over King's and Albright. He finished with a .789 save percentage for the week, a figure that he produced in both games. Reed made 26 saves, including three in the last five minutes, to hold off the Lions in a 9-7 victory. The senior goalkeeper allowed only four goals while keeping away 15 during the win over the Monarchs. Reed also produced seven ground balls and a caused turnover. Weekly Honor Roll: Aubron Swartley (Gwynedd Mercy/Senior/GK): Despite going 0-2, Swartley recorded 31 saves, seven ground balls, and his first career assist. Gwynedd Mercy University shared the ball well against Arcadia University as nine different Griffins recorded at least a point in the seven-goal game. Clark Akers (Marymount/Senior/Attack): Akers made history for the Saints in a 1-1 week. The senior posted eight points on six goals and two assists as MU picked up a win over Hood. Akers scored two goals and added an assist against the Blazers. He followed that up with four goals and an assist against Mary Washington. With his performance against the Eagles, Akers became the all-time leading point scorer in Marymount history. Dalton Metzger (Marywood/Junior/Attack): Metzger led Marywoood to a pair of wins over King's and Albright with seven goals. He scored five goals in the Pacers' come-from-behind 9-7 win over the Lions. Trailing by three in the fourth quarter, Metzger tallied four goals in a 7:18 span. His fifth of the game evened the score with 7:15 remaining. Metzger added a pair in a 14-7 win over the Monarchs.
