Men's Lacrosse 2/28/2022 12:39:53 PM Marshall, McLaughlin Earn Men's Lacrosse Weekly Awards Lancaster, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men's Lacrosse weekly honors on Monday, as Neumann's Rich Marshall was named Offensive Player of the Week while Brett McLaughlin earned Defensive Player of the Week. Offensive Player of the Week: Name: Rich Marshall School: Neumann University Class: Senior Position: Attack Hometown: Collegeville, PA High School: Perkiomen Valley Brief Outlook of Week: Marshall was the top offensive contributor in Neumann’s two wins over Delaware Valley and Wilkes this week. The senior attacker scored four times in the Knights’ 11-7 win over Delaware Valley on Tuesday, then added three goals in Neumann’s 16-7 win over Wilkes on Sunday. He also picked up seven ground balls on the week. Defensive Player of the Week: Name: Brett McLaughlin School: Neumann University Class: Senior Position: Defense Hometown: Prospect Park, PA High School: Interboro Brief Outlook of Week: McLaughlin was a key contributor on both ends of the field for the Knights in their two wins this week. In Tuesday’s 11-7 victory over Delaware Valley, the senior picked up two goals and an assist while also scooping up eight ground balls and causing three turnovers. In Sunday’s 16-7 win over Wilkes, the defender notched a goal and two assists to go along with nine ground balls and five caused turnovers. The senior also moved over the 100 caused turnovers mark in his career in Sunday’s win. Weekly Honor Roll: Jason Eide (Gwynedd Mercy/Sophomore/Attack): Eide totaled 11 points (7 goals, 4 assists), six ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers during the Griffins' 1-1 week versus Albright College and Juniata College. Eide recorded five points (3 goals, 2 assists) and two ground balls in a 16-11 loss to the Lions before offering six points (4 goals, 2 assists), four ground balls, and two caused turnovers to a 16-8 win over the Eagles. Nick Ericson (Marywood/Sophomore/FO): Ericson tied a Marywood single-game school record for ground balls. As a faceoff man, he collected 17 GBs in an 11-6 win over Wilkes. Ericson won 85% (17-of-20) chances from the faceoff-x. He also scored one goal. In a loss to Arcadia, Ericson won 10 of 26 faceoffs with five ground balls.
