Immaculata's Andrada and Marymount's Demusz Secure Softball Weekly Awards

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Softball weekly award winners on Monday, as Immaculata’s Alexis Andrada was named Player of the Week and Marymount’s Bailey Demusz was named Pitcher of the Week.

Player of the Week: Alexis Andrada
School: Immaculata
Class: Sophomore
Position: Shortstop
Hometown: Maple Shade, N.J.
High School: Maple Shade
Brief Outlook of Week: Andrada hit .571 (12-for-21) across six games while recording a hit in every contest. She totaled six runs scored, two doubles, one triple, and eight RBIs during the stretch. In game one of Immaculata’s doubleheader sweep at Penn State Abington on Wednesday, Andrada went a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and a triple, scoring three runs and driving in five. She followed that up with another dominant performance in game one of the AEC doubleheader against Marywood on Saturday, going 5-for-6 with a run scored and two RBIs.

School: Marymount
Class: Senior
Position: Pitcher
Hometown: Doylestown, Pa.
High School: Central Bucks West
Brief Outlook of Week: Demusz did not allow an earned run across her two starts last week. Tossing 12.0 innings, the righty struck out 13 while allowing just eight hits and one walk. 


Weekly Honor Roll:
Rylie O’Toole, Gwynedd Mercy:
O'Toole earned her first two collegiate wins this week as she collected a victory in game-one relief versus Albright, then aced the Cyclones in a 5-1 game-two win at Centenary. Against the Lions, she allowed two runs on six hits and a walk, while striking out two over 3.1 innings. Then in a start against the Cyclones, she governed the Griffins to victory by holding the home team to an unearned run on two hits. She struck out one.

Kaylee Atkins, Marymount: Atkins drove in nine RBI in Marymount's six games last week. Batting .474, the first baseman knocked two doubles and a home run to slug at a .737 clip. 

Riley Marshall, Marywood: Marshall led Marywood with three home runs and six RBIs in four games. She finished the week with a .385 batting average and a 1.477 OPS. Marshall drove in both Marywood runs in a 2-1 victory over Penn State Harrisburg. She sparked the offense with a solo shot to left field in the third inning and sacrifice flied the game-winning run. Marshall hit a home run in both ends of an Atlantic East doubleheader against Immaculata. In a 12-7 win over the Mighty Macs, Marshall went 2 for 5 with two runs and two RBIs.

Rebecca DiLeo, Neumann: DiLeo pitched a complete game and got the win in a 5-1 win over Swarthmore. Over 7.0 innings, she allowed just one run on eight and struck out two. She got out of a bases loaded, no one out jam in the fourth inning. The first year also pitched a 1-2-3 inning with two strikeouts against Elizabethtown earlier in the week. 

Josilynn Garcia, Saint Elizabeth: Garcia had an impactful week for the Eagles, going 5-for-11 (.455 avg), which included a two home run game against John Jay on Thursday. Garcia was able to plate eight for the Eagles while also scoring twice on the week.

Jocelyn Koo, Saint Elizabeth: Koo picked up her very first collegiate career win against John Jay on Thursday, striking out four while holding the Bloodhounds quiet. Koo would finish the week with a 7.2 IP and nine strikeouts on the week.
