Neumann's Zarnawksi and Saint Elizabeth's DeGaetani Awarded Softball Weekly Award Honors

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Softball weekly award winners on Monday, as Neumann’s Zarnawski was named Player of the Week and Saint Elizabeth’s DeGaetani was named Pitcher of the Week.

Player of the Week: Ellie Zarnawski
School: Neumann
Class: Freshman
Position: Catcher/Infield
Hometown: Cinnaminson, N.J.
High School: Cinnaminson
Brief Outlook of Week: Zarnawski hit .500 (11-for-22) as Neumann opened its season 5-5. Three of the first year’s hits went for doubles. She also scored seven runs and knocked in four while walking three times. Zarnawski got her first collegiate hit at her first plate appearance. Her first two RBI came on a double to tie the game at four against Simmons, where Neumann went on to win 12-8. 

Pitcher of the Week: Kami DeGaetani
School: Saint Elizabeth
Class: Senior
Position: Pitcher
Hometown: Nanuet, N.Y.
High School: Nanuet Senior High
Brief Outlook of Week: DeGaetani pitched and started at least one game each day that the Eagles played while in Myrtle Beach, going 3-1 on the week with a 2.22 ERA. She totaled 14 strikeouts on the week and only surrendered one walk. Her best performance of the week came against Division II Chestnut Hill, where she went a complete game (7 innings), struck out five, walked 0, gave up five hits, and allowed only one run, which was unearned.


Weekly Honor Roll:
Kaylee Atkins, Marymount:
Atkins batted .357 across four games at the Triangle Classic, knocking a double and collecting five RBI. In the Saints' win over Randolph on Sunday, she drove in four runs to help overcome the WildCats. 

Marina Costello, Neumann: Costello went 2-1 as Neumann opened the 2026 season 5-5. In her first start of the season, Costello went 3.0 scoreless innings. Her first win came when she pitched 4.0 innings in relief, allowing one run on four hits while striking out nine in a 13-1 win over Chatham. Costello followed with 5.2 scoreless innings in relief where she struck out five. In the final game of the week, Costello pitched a complete game, 6.0 innings for the 11-3 win over Alvernia. She struck out six. 

Mia Testa, Saint Elizabeth: Testa hit .450% on the week, (9 for 20), driving in five. She scored twice, she had a .522% OBP, and a .550 SLG %, reaching base successfully in every game the Eagles played.
