MARSHALL, Tex. -- Marymount softball opened up NCAA Regional play on Thursday, taking on the #1 seeded East Texas Baptist Tigers on their home turf.
The Saints will look to stay alive tomorrow in the elimination round of the regional.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- East Texas Baptist opened up the contest with a run in the first and two in the second before opening the floodgates in the third to take a commanding lead.
- Kammie Brown opened the top of the fourth with a single, and after Haley Greer reached via a hit-by-pitch, the Saints had two on with just one away.
- Kaylee Atkins came through, singling through the left side of the infield to to score Brown and get the Saints on the scoreboard.
- The Tigers shut down the Saints in the top of the fifth to finish off the match up.
- Atkins and Brown each had a single in the loss.
- Starter in the circle Bailey Demusz struck out three in her first national tournament appearance.
