HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Softball weekly award winners on Monday, as Marywood’s Lauryn Notari was named Player of the Week and Saint Elizabeth’s Jazmin Frias was named Pitcher of the Week.
Player of the Week: Lauryn Notari
School: Marywood
Class: Junior
Position: First Base
Hometown: Clarks Summit, Pa.
High School: Abington Heights
Brief Outlook of Week: Notari hit a game-winning home run to defeat Otterbein, capping their eight-game Spring Break stand. She led the Pacers with a team-high 10 RBI’s, finished with a .423 batting average and 1.136 OPS in seven games. She posted a .692 slugging percentage over the week, tallying an incredible 58 putouts.
Pitcher of the Week: Jazmin Frias
School: Saint Elizabeth
Class: Senior
Position: Pitcher
Hometown: Palmdale, Ca.
High School: John Marshall High
Brief Outlook of Week: Frias was lights out for the Eagles, tossing a two-hit complete game on Saturday against Hunter. The seniorwould struck out five and walked none along the way.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Hannah Smith, Gwynedd Mercy: The Griffin shortstop led the team offensively to a 3-6 finish at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic with her .379 (11-for-29) batting average that produced 11 runs, and nine runs-batted-in (RBI). She posted a .542 slugging percentage, was walked four times, and stole one base.
Jamie Green, Immaculata: Green enjoyed an impressive start to her collegiate career for Immaculata at the Fast Pitch Dreams Spring Classic in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Over eight games, she hit .370 (10-for-27) while scoring six runs and driving in eight RBIs. She also recorded two doubles and two triples.
Bailey Demusz, Marymount: Demusz earned the win on the mound in game one of Marymount's double header sweep over Methodist on Sunday. The senior went 6.0 innings, allowing just two hits and two earned runs, while striking out five Monarchs.
Valeria Gutierrez De Oliveira, Marymount: Putting together a strong day at the plate to lead the Saints to the double header sweep over Methodist on Sunday, she went 3-for-5, with a double, driving in three crucial runs.
Isabell Edwards, Saint Elizabeth: Edwards had a major impact for the Eagles this past weekend. Going a perfect 4-for-4 in two games, she posted a 1.500 SLG%, picked up two doubles, three RBI’s, scored three runs, and drew three walks.
