Marymount's Popp Awarded Men's Swimming Swimmer of the Week Honors

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Swimming weekly award winners on Monday, as Noah Popp of Marymount was awarded the Swimmer of the Week award.

Brief Outlook of Week: First-year Popp put on an impressive display at the Patriot Invitational last week against Division I opponents. Clocking a 1:44.23 in the 200 yard freestyle, he set a new Marymount program record. Later in the meet, he hit an Atlantic East Conference record in the 200 backstroke finals at 1:53.16, finishing atop his heat for 17th overall. To add to his impressive outing, he made the cut in the 100 yard backstroke event, finishing 22nd overall with a time of 52.28. Popp was also a member of the 400 freestyle relay team that broke the Marymount program and Atlantic East records, clocking in at 3:06.35.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Alex McCarey, Marywood: McCarey had two fourth place performances in the 100 and 200 back at the Electric City Invitational. McCarey tied for the Pacers' best individual finish in 58.1 seconds. He swam to a 2:09.36 mark in the 200 back and dropped more than 15 seconds from his previous time in the 200 IM to finish in 2:15.76. 

Will Kendrick, St. Mary’s: 
Kendrick helped the Seahawks to a fourth-place finish in the eight-team field at the Yellow Jacket Invitational, edging host Randolph-Macon by 1.5 points. He tied for 11th in 50 freestyle (21.55), placed 13th in 100 backstroke (55.16), finished 17th in 100 freestyle (47.96), anchored the fourth-place 400-freestyle relay (3:11.54), anchored the sixth-place 200-freestyle relay (1:27.84), led off a seventh-place 200-medley relay (1:36.52), and led off an eighth-place 400-medley relay (3:35.11).
