St. Mary's Davis Awarded Men's Swimming Weekly Honors

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Swimming weekly award winners on Monday, as St. Mary’s Anthony Davis was awarded the Swimmer of the Week award. 

Swimmer of the Week: Anthony Davis
School: St. Mary’s College of Maryland
Class: Junior
Hometown: Upper Marlboro, Md.
High School: Riverdale Baptist School
Brief Outlook of Week: Davis helped the Seahawks to a 2-1 opening weekend, capturing first place in the 50 freestyle (22.92) at Randolph-Macon while swimming the third leg on the second-place 200 medley relay (1:40.83). He also picked up a pair of third-place finishes in the 100 freestyle (50.37) and the 100 butterfly (56.98). The junior went undefeated in the 50 freestyle (22.15) this weekend as he touched the wall first at a double dual meet with Randolph and Virginia Wesleyan. He also anchored the winning 200 medley (1:42.47) and 200 freestyle (1:29.98) relays. 
 

Weekly Honor Roll:
Mike DeMattei, Immaculata:
DeMattei led the Mighty Macs with two individual victories in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.99) and 200-yard individual medley (2:12.76). The junior also added a runner-up finish in the 100-yard backstroke (59.26), earning a split in the tri-meet with Elizabethtown and Goucher. On Saturday, DeMattei captured first place in the 200-yard Individual Medley (2:08.09), added a runner-up finish in the 100-yard Backstroke (58.92), and was a member of the winning 400-yard Medley Relay in the duel meet win over Moravian.
