Marymount's Claudy Awarded Men's Swimming Swimmer of the Week Honors

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Swimming weekly award winners on Monday, as Marymount’s Luke Claudy was awarded the Swimmer of the Week award.

Brief Outlook of Week: Claudy put up an impressive day in Marymount's home tri-meet on Saturday, helping the team to two AEC wins over Gallaudet and St. Mary's College of Maryland. Winning the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.61, a season best, Claudy also won the 100 freestyle event at 47.58, another season best and conference best time. The Wingate. N.C. native also helped Marymount to two relay wins, holding the anchor for the 200 medley relay before diving into the pool first in the 200 free relay. The 200 freestyle relay led to a conference-leading time thus far on the season. 

Weekly Honor Roll:
Daniel Madigan, St, Mary’s: Madigan was one of two Seahawks to win an event in a  loss at Mary Washington, finishing the 200-individual medley in 1:59.49 while taking second in the 100-breaststroke (59.42). He was the lone Seahawk to earn a win in a conference split at Marymount (Va.) (L, 194-67) with Gallaudet (W, 219-24). Madigan collected SMCM's lone win by touching the wall first in the 200-breaststroke in 2:13.52 after finishing second in the 100-breaststroke in 1:01.77. The junior also placed third in the 200-individual medley that day.
