Marymount Makes a Splash in Men's Swimming and Diving Major Awards

HADDONFIELD, N.J.- The Atlantic East Conference announced the 2026 Men’s Swimming and Diving major award winners and All-Conference teams on Tuesday. 

Marymount’s Luke Claudy was named the 2026 Swimmer of the Year after an outstanding championship meet, highlighted by his NCAA B Cut time of 44.81 in the 100 freestyle. The junior tied with fellow Saint Noah Popp for the most individual points, adding 60 to Marymount’s total. In addition to his gold in the 100 freestyle, took home gold in the 200 freestyle (1:41.40) and 50 freestyle (20.65). Claudy was also a part of four Saints relays that set new conference and meet records. He was the leadoff for Marymount’s 400 freestyle relay (3:06.02) and 200 freestyle relay (1:23.10), while swimming the third leg of the 800 freestyle relay (6:55.43) and closing out the final leg of the 400 medley relay (3:22.07).

Noah Popp received Rookie of the Year Accolades after posting the same 60 individual points as his teammate Claudy. The freshman set two individual conference and meet records in the 200 IM (1:54.57) and 200 backstroke (1:52.91). He also landed atop the podium in the 100 backstroke (51.29). On the relay side of things, Popp led off the 400 medley relay (3:22.07) and 800 freestyle relay (6:55.43), swam the third leg of the 400 freestyle relay (3:06.02), and finished off the final leg of the 200 freestyle relay (1:23.10) for the Saints. 

Luke Claudy also took home the Atlantic East Elite Scholar Athlete Award. This honor is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing at the finals site at each of the Atlantic East’s championships. Claudy is majoring in Cybersecurity and boasts a 3.971 GPA. Full criteria can be found here.

Immaculata, who finished in fourth with 219 points, was tabbed as Coaching Staff of the Year. The Mighty Macs were led by Head Coach Josh Pace, in his third season, and assistant coaches Bree Kratz, Keith Wiley, and Mary Grace MacDonald. Michael DeMattei was the highest finisher for Immaculata, totaling 38 points.
