Four-for-Four! Marymount Reigns Supreme in Men's Swimming and Diving

St. Mary’s City, Md. - After a strong four days of competition, the Saints continued their strong run of dominance, capturing yet another men’s swimming and diving championship, setting new records along the way.

Kicking things off with the longest leg of the meet, Marymount’s Nathan Bruley took home the top spot after posting a 16:17.48, a new conference and meet record. Harrison Greenwald of St. Mary’s landed second, with a time of 16:43.27, while fellow Saint Seth Reinsel was awarded bronze after touching in 17:01.92.

Marymount swept the 200 backstroke, with Noah Popp leading the trio in 1:52.91, a new record for both the conference and meet. Nathan Bruley touched in 1:55.52, with Garrett Peck right behind in 1:57.38.

Luke Claudy made waves in the 100 freestyle, clocking an NCAA B Cut time of 44.81, confidently standing atop the podium. Claudy was followed by fellow Saints Ben Clabeaux (46.55) and Cartsen Hicks (46.83).

St. Mary’s Daniel Madigan took home gold in the 200 breaststroke, clocking a finals time of 2:05.10 after setting a new conference and meet record in the prelims of 2:04.29. Marymount rounded out the top three with Evan Pak landing second (2:07.29), and Ryan Faherty earning bronze (2:07.44).

In similar fashion to several other events, Marymount swept the top three spots in the 200 butterfly. Alex Hain touched first in 1:55.27, with Daniel Caldwell earning silver via a 1:56.69 time before Garrett Watson rounded out the top spots, posting a time of 1:58.27.

Rounding out the weekend with a team event, the 400 freestyle relay saw one last meet and conference record broken. Marymount’s Luke Claudy, Cartsen Hicks, Noah Popp, and Ben Clabeaux combined for a time of 3:06.02. St. Mary’s came in second, with a time of 3:09.49, with Marywood securing the bronze in 3:36.30.

Marymount has now won the last four men's swimming and diving championships, dating back to 2023. This year, the Saints set nine new conference and meet records, with five of them coming via relays.
