LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Lacrosse weekly award winners on Monday, as Immaculata’s David Azzarano and Neumann’s Owen Avelar earn Player and Defensive Player of the Week Honors respectively.
Player of the Week:
Name: David Azzarano
School: Immaculata

Brief Outlook of Week: Azzarano had a combined six goals, 11 assists, 17 points, nine ground balls, and two caused turnovers in two games for Immaculata this week. He had three goals, four assists, seven points, seven ground balls, and two caused turnovers vs Marymount on April 3rd. He had three goals, seven assists, ten points, and two ground balls in Immaculata's win over Centenary on April 6th.
Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Owen Avelar
School: Neumann
Class: Sophomore
Position: Goalkeeper
Hometown: Audubon, Pa.
High School: Methacton
Brief Outlook of Week: Avelar made 11 saves in the 9-8 win over Marywood as Neumann opened conference action with a win. Two of the sophomore's saves came in the final 17 seconds to hold off the Pacers in the one-goal game.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Brendan Boschi (So., Attack, Neumann): Boschi had four goals and an assist as Neumann opened conference action with a 9-8 win over Marywood. He finished with nine shots, five on goal, and two ground balls in the 1-0 week for the Knights.
Connor Herraiz (So., Attack, Cabrini): Herraiz delivered 9 points during the Cavaliers' 2-0 week, netting 3 goals and 1 assist at Gwynedd Mercy and 4 goals, 1 helper at home against Marymount. The sophomore also logged 3 ground balls and a caused turnover during the week.
John McCormick (Jr., Faceoff, Cabrini): McCormick was dominant on faceoffs, winning 49 of 59 opportunities. The senior was near perfect against Gwynedd Mercy, winning 25 of 26 tries and collecting 18 ground balls, before winning 24 of 33 faceoffs against Marymount with 13 ground balls. McCormick also scored 4 Cabrini goals during the week.
Jack Williams (Sr., Attack, Marymount): Williams matched his own program record with 13 points (2G, 11A) in a 20-12 win over Immaculata on Wednesday. 11 assists in a game stands as second-most in program history, behind his own 12-assist performance last April against Centenary. It's also the fourth time in his career that he has scored 10 points in a game. No other Saint has done it more than twice.
