Cabrini's Herraiz and Hewitt Sweep Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honors

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Lacrosse weekly award winners on Monday, as Cabrini’s Connor Herraiz and Peter Hewitt sweep Player and Defensive Player of the Week Honors.   

Player of the Week:
Name: Connor Herraiz
School: Cabrini
Class: Sophomore
Position: Attack
Hometown: Succasunna, N.J.
High School: Pope John XXIII
Brief Outlook of Week: Herraiz led Cabrini's attack with six points in each of the Cavaliers' two wins this week. The sophomore scored 4 goals and 2 assists against Arcadia before notching a goal and 5 assists against Cortland. Herraiz also collected 3 ground balls and a caused turnover in the latter, a game that he scored the game-winner.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Peter Hewitt
School: Cabrini
Class: Junior
Position: Midfield
Hometown: Berwyn, Pa.   
High School: Conestoga
Brief Outlook of Week: Hewitt aided Cabrini's defense, helping the Cavaliers to a 2-0 week. The junior midfielder had a team-high 5 ground balls and game-high 3 caused turnovers in Cabrini's most recent game, a comeback win over Cortland. Hewitt is in the midst of a four-game streak with at least 3 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Gunnar Seaman (So., Attack, Gwynedd Mercy): Seaman scored three goals in the opening 6-2 run against Widener. He finished the quarter with an assist and a team high five points in the game. The sophomore also tallied two groundballs and a caused turnover in the contest.  

Matt Ludlow (So., Goalkeeper, Immaculata): Ludlow had a combined 33 saves, and six ground balls over two games. He had 16 saves and one ground ball vs Susquehanna on March 6th, and had 17 saves, and six ground balls vs Moravian on March 9th.

Bryan Maguire (Jr., Attack, Marymount): In a 19-13 win over Berry on Wednesday, Maguire set career highs with six goals and eight points. He also tied his career high with four ground balls and two assists.
