Neumann's Boschi and Marywood's Ericson Each Take Home Weekly Men's Lacrosse Honors

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men’s Lacrosse weekly award winners on Monday, as Neumann’s Brendan Boschi and Marywood’s Nick Ericson Eaarn Player and Defensive Player of the Week Honors.   

Player of the Week:
Name: Brendan Boschi
School: Neumann
Class: Sophomore
Position: Attack
Hometown: Litchfield, N.H.
High School: Campbell
Brief Outlook of Week: Boschi had 16 points, 12 goals and four assists, in a 2-0 week for the Knights. He also added 21 shots, 18 on goal, and three groundballs. In a 13-9 win at King’s, the sophomore had six goals and an assist. He followed with six goals and three assists in a 25-3 win over Cairn.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Nick Ericson
School: Marywood
Class: Senior
Position: Faceoff Specialist
Hometown: Downingtown, Pa.  
High School: Downington East t
Brief Outlook of Week: Lawrence. Ericson won 88.2 percent (30-for-34) of faceoff attempts and gathered 15 ground balls in two games. He won all 11 faceoffs in a 4-3 win over Mount St. Mary (N.Y.). Ericson scored the game-winning goal with 3:28 remaining, and he won the next faceoff to help the Pacers stave off the Knights. In an 11-8 loss to Wilkes, Ericson won 18-of-23 faceoffs and earned 14 ground balls.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Owen Avelar (So., Goalie, Neumann): Avelar made 15 saves and picked up two wins in net in a 2-0 week for Neumann. In a back-and-forth game at King’s, the sophomore made 11 saves in a 13-9 win. He followed with four saves and one-goal-against in a 25-3 win over Cairn. He also picked up four ground balls.

Dillon McManus (Gr., Attack, Cabrini): McManus drove much of the Cavaliers' attack, generating 11 points in two games this week. He'd secure 4 points by way of a goal and 3 assists against Hampden-Sydney College, followed by a 2 goal, 5 assist performance in Cabrini's win over Widener University.

Matt Ludlow (So., Goalkeeper, Immaculata): Ludlow made 10 saves on 29 shots faced, and had eight ground balls in helping lead Immaculata to a 12-3 win over Alvernia on February 28th.

Brandon Verderber (Sr., Attack, Centenary): Verderber had a strong start to the season on the offensive side of the ball for the Cylcones. The senior tallied six goals, five assists for 11 points in the 1-1 week to start the season.
