Lemery, Livingstone Named Baseball Players of the Week


LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the baseball weekly honors on Monday, as Marymount University's Alex Lemery earned Player of the Week and Gwynedd Mercy University's Trey Livingstone garnered Pitcher of the Week.

Brief Outlook of Week: Went 2-for-3 with five RBIs and a home run to lead Marymount to its first conference win of the season on Thursday against Marywood.

Name: Trey Livingstone
School: Gwynedd Mercy University

High School: Montgomery County Community College
Brief Outlook of Week: Junior Trey Livingstone (Pennsburg, Pa.) earned the win in game 2 of a double header with Centenary(2-2), allowing two unearned runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out six.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Anthony Vassallo (Senior/Centenary): Vassallo hit .421 with 10 runs scored and six RBIs in five games last week. He posted an .842 slugging percentage as four of his eight hits went for extra bases. Vassallo also contributed five stolen bases. Vassallo contributed three hits, three runs scored, two RBIs with a home run in Monday's doubleheader at Gwynedd Mercy. Vassallo had a hit and three runs scored with three stolen bases in Thursday's game with Drew. He had a home run against the Rangers. He wrapped up his week by going a combined 4-for-5 with four runs scored, three RBIs, two doubles and a stolen base in the doubleheader sweep of St. Joseph's Brooklyn.

Michael Tempel (Senior/Marywood): Tempel batted .429 in a 3-2 week for the Pacers with nine hits, seven runs scored and four RBI. He had one double and a .476 slugging percentage, as well as a .538 on-base percentage. Tempel also swiped two bases while picking up 17 putouts and one assist in right field.

Drew Mead (Senior/Marymount): Went five innings to earn win against Marywood, punching out season-high eight batters.

TJ Lacey (Sophomore/Marywood): Lacey went 1-0 for the Pacers on the mound this week. The junior struck out five over six innings and allowed just one earned run in his win over Clarks Summit. Lacey allowed just one hit the victory and carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning.
