Lemery, Toal Earn First Baseball Weekly Honors of the Season

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the baseball weekly honors on Tuesday, as Alex Lemery of Marymount University earned Player of the Week and Pat Toal from Cabrini University garnered Pitcher of the Week.

Player of the Week:

Brief Outlook of Week: Lemery picked up where he left off a season ago across the Saints' 3-0 opening weekend. The senior slashed .455/.571/.727 across three games. He tallied five hits, five runs, five RBI, two walks, and one stolen base. In two games against Mary Baldwin, both wins, Lemery went 4-for-7 at the plate with four RBi, two walks, and four runs. In MU's 6-5 win over Widener, the senior swatted his first home run of the campaign.

Name: Pat Toal
School: Cabrini University
Class: Sophomore
Position: Pitcher
Hometown: Springfield, PA
High School: The Haverford School
Brief Outlook of Week: Toal made the most of his two appearances last week with 7 strikeouts over 4.2 shutout innings, allowing just one hit. The sophomore earned a save in Cabrini's 7-2 win at Catholic after recording five strikeouts and no hits over 3.2 innings of work.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Kyle Morin (Sophomore / Marywood): Morin went 4-for-6 (.667) with a grand slam and five RBI to lead Marywood to an opening season sweep of Penn State Brandywine. In the 9-4 opening game victory, Morin went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a sacrifice fly. In the 11-9 nightcap win, Morin was 2-for-3 with a grand slam in the fourth inning and four RBI. He had 7 total bases, a 1.167 slugging percentage and a .625 on-base percentage over the two games. He was also 1-for-1 in stolen bases and scored three runs.

Dustin Sutton (Senior / Cabrini): Sutton got his season off to a great start, hitting .500 (6-12), with 2 doubles, a triple and 6 RBI as the Cavaliers opened the season 2-2. Sutton made his Cabrini debut going 2-2 with 2 RBI in a 9-5 win over Messiah. He closed last week with 2 hits, 3 RBI, a triple and a stolen base in Saturday's 7-2 win at Catholic.
