Pratt's Verghese Named Women's Tennis Player of the Week

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Tennis weekly award winners on Monday, as Pratt's Pallavi Verghese was named Player of the Week.

Brief Outlook of Week: Verghese guided the Pratt Institute women's tennis team to a 7-0 Senior Day sweep of Marymount University on Saturday to secure the AEC regular season title. Verghese partnered with Beatrice Crespo at No. 1 doubles to secure a hard-fought 6-4 victory, completing the team doubles sweep. She was dominant in singles play, cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at the top flight to remain perfect in AEC singles and doubles play this season.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Avianna Santarelli, Marywood:
Santarelli went 2-0 in both singles and doubles to help the Pacers defeat Bard and Immaculata. In the match versus Bard, she won the No. 2 singles by 6-4, 6-1 scores. She helped Marywood secure the second seed in the postseason with a 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-3 win. Santarelli and Hannah Adonizio had a pair of 6-0 wins in No. 2 doubles.
