Pratt's Verghese Tabbed as Women's Tennis Player of the Week

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Tennis weekly award winners on Monday, as Pallavi Verghese was named Player of the Week.

School: Pratt
Class: Junior
Hometown: Fayetteville, Ark.
High School: Fayetteville
Brief Outlook of Week: Verghese was dominant, dropping just one game in Pratt's spring and AEC opener against Neumann on Saturday. The junior teamed up with Beatrice Crespo for a 6-0 shutout at No. 1 doubles and collected a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at No. 1 singles to help Pratt remain undefeated at 6-0.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Avery DeFazio, Marymount: 
DeFazio picked up a #1 singles win over Immaculata on Saturday to start out AEC play strong, 7-5, 6-3. She also nabbed a #1 doubles win with teammate Sofi Plotkin, 6-1, to garner points for the Saints.

Hanna Adonizio, Marywood: Adonizio had a singles and doubles win during a 5-2 loss to Juniata. She won No. 4 singles with a 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 victory. Adonizio and Santarelli won 6-2 in second doubles.
