Immaculata's Brown Tabbed as Women's Tennis Player of the Week

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Tennis weekly award winners on Monday, as Immaculata’s Delaney Brown was awarded the Player of the Week award.

Brief Outlook of Week: Brown led the way for Immaculata women’s tennis in a 5-2 win over Penn State Abington, delivering dominant performances in both singles and doubles play. Brown rolled to a straight-sets victory at No. 1 singles before teaming up for a strong 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles, setting the tone for the Mighty Macs on the road. Her efforts helped Immaculata secure a decisive non-conference victory as the team finished its fall slate 4-1.

 

Weekly Honor Roll:
Alura Troilo, Neumann:
In a 1-1 week for the Knights Troilo went 2-0 in singles action and 1-1 in doubles action. The senior’s first doubles match with Sha’xaria Gordon resulted in a 7-5 loss to Arcadia. Troilo then picked up a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles as the Knights dropped the day 5-2. In a 6-1 win over Penn State Abington, the doubles duo won 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, followed by the Philadelphia, Pa., native going 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.

Beatrice Crespo, Pratt: Crespo had a pair of victories in Pratt's 7-0 sweep of crosstown rivals Brooklyn College. She conceded just three games in a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles and teamed up with Pallavi Verghese for a 6-3 triumph in the lead doubles match. Crespo is a perfect 5-0 at No. 2 singles this fall as Pratt heads into the spring season with a 5-0 team record.
