Marywood's Meighan and Cabrini's Gallagher Tabbed Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Lacrosse weekly award winners on Monday, as Marywood’s Avery Meighan and Cabrini’s Caroline Gallagher earn Player and Defensive Player of the week honors respectively.  

Player of the Week:
Name: Avery Meighan
School: Marywood
Class: Sophomore
Position: Midfield
Hometown: Floral Park, N.Y.
High School: Floral Park Memorial
Brief Outlook of Week: Meighan led the Pacers to an Atlantic East victory over Neumann with six goals and two assists for eight points. The sophomore midfielder became the 10th member of Marywood's 100 Goal Club. Meighan contributed nine draw controls, eight ground balls and two caused turnovers in the 15-8 win to start the conference s

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Caroline Gallagher
School: Cabrini
Class: Senior
Position: Defender
Hometown: Cape May Court Houses, N.J.
High School: Middle Township
Brief Outlook of Week: Gallagher led Cabrini's defense with 12 ground balls and 5 caused turnovers. Gallagher also secured 10 draw controls, and scored 5 goals across the Cavs' three games this week.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Abby Dunn (Sr., Attack, Marymount): Junior Abby Dunn caused four turnovers and picked up eight total ground balls in the Saints' 1-1 week in AEC action. She added six total draw controls to her credit.

Kaitlyn Klitchko (Sr., Attack, Immaculata): Klitchko had a combined 10 goals, two assists, 12 points, seven ground balls, four caused turnovers, and four draw controls over two games. She had seven goals, and three ground balls vs. Marymount on April 3rd. She had three goals, two assists, five points, four ground balls, four caused turnovers, and four draw controls vs Centenary on April 6th.

Riley Love (Gr., Attack, Marymount): In Fifth year attack Riley Love put up a historic outing in the Saints' 20-11 win over Immaculata last Wednesday. Collecting a career-high 13 points, with 12 assists and one goal, Love tied the program record for points in a single game. She ended the week with 14 total points, while also picking up three ground balls
