HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Lacrosse weekly award winners on Monday, as Marywood swept with Kaitlyn Smith being named Player of the Week and Avery Meighan being named Defensive Player of the Week.
Player of the Week: Kaitlyn Smith
School: Marywood

Brief Outlook of Week: Smith led the Pacers to a 17-12 win over Juniata with a nine-point effort. She scored five goals and four assists. Tied at 9-9 at halftime, Smith helped Marywood topple the Eagles with a point (two goals, one assist) in three goals in the opening 5:12 of the second half.
Defensive Player of the Week: Avery Meighan

Brief Outlook of Week: Meighan helped the Pacers defeat Juniata 17-12 with an outstanding performance on the defensive side of the field. She had 10 draw controls, seven ground balls and six caused turnovers to help Marywood limit the Eagles to just three second half goals. Offensively, Meighan had four goals and three assists for seven points.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Elizabeth Mahmud, Immaculata: Mahmud had a standout three-game stretch for Immaculata, totaling 10 goals and three assists, while adding 10 ground balls, nine caused turnovers, and 12 draw controls. She opened the week by scoring four goals while recording four ground balls, two caused turnovers, and three draw controls against DeSales. Mahmud followed that up against Elizabethtown with two goals, along with three ground balls, three caused turnovers, and two draw controls before capping the stretch with four goals, three assists, three ground balls, four caused turnovers, and seven draw controls against Goucher.
Tess Valentino, Marymount: The senior attack notched nine total points on seven goals, including the game winner over Westminster, and two assists last week, shooting at a .412 percentage. She added two caused turnovers and a ground ball through the week of competition.
Alena Catka, Neumann: Catka scored four goals and added an assist as Neumann defeated SUNY-Canton 15-5 in its lone game of the week. The junior grabbed 11 draw controls and picked up three ground balls.
Krista Geibler, Neumann: Geibler caused six turnovers in a 15-5 win over SUNY-Canton. She also scored a goal, tallied 15 shots and picked up three ground balls.
