HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Lacrosse weekly award winners on Monday, as Neumann’s Alena Catka was named Player of the Week and Gwynedd Mercy’s Kira Bradley was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Player of the Week: Alena Catka
School: Neumann
Class: Junior
Position: Attack
Hometown: Brookhaven, Pa.
High School: Sun Valley
Brief Outlook of Week: Catka led the Knights with four goals, three assists and five draw controls in Neumann lone game of the week at Ursinus. Her four goals came from a perfect four shots, all of which were on target.
Defensive Player of the Week: Kira Bradley
School: Gwynedd Mercy
Class: Senior
Position: Midfield
Hometown: Langhorne, Pa.
High School: Neshaminy
Brief Outlook of Week: Bradley helped keep Gwynedd Mercy stay in contests at Wilkes and Arcadia with five ground balls, five caused turnovers, and six draw controls. She also recorded two goals and four assists this week.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Elena Colliluori, Gwynedd Mercy: Colliluori did her best to lead the Griffins in games at Wilkes and Arcadia with five goals, one assist, six ground balls, two caused turnovers, and eight draw controls.
Tess Valentino, Marymount: In Marymount's 9-7 win over Bridgewater College on Tuesday, Valentino was the difference maker, racking up four points on three goals and two assists to lead the Saints to the win.
Ava Vautour, Marymount: Vautour had another stout outing in the net for the Saints to lead to a win on the road at Bridgewater College on Tuesday. Earning the win in goal and racking up eight saves, the sophomore added a pair of caused turnovers and six ground balls to her credit.
