LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Lacrosse weekly award winners on Monday, as Immaculata’s Tessa Liberatoscioli and Centenary’s Nora Dornich earned Player and Defensive Player of the week honors respectively.
Player of the Week:
Name: Tessa Liberatoscioli
School: Immaculata
Class: Senior
Position: Midfield
Hometown: Malvern, Pa.
High School: Great Valley
Brief Outlook of Week: Liberatoscioli combined for 17 goals, seven assists, 24 points, 16 ground balls, eight caused turnovers, and 30 draw controls in helping lead Immaculata to a 3-0 week. She scored one goal and had one assist in helping Immaculata defeat Bryn Athyn 12-7 on February 26th. She broke three Immaculata single game program records for goals with 10, points with 13, and draw controls with 17 in the Mighty Macs 21-16 win over Albright on February 28th. She closed the week with scored six goals, added three assists, had 11 draw controls, and registered her 100-career point in win against Elizabethtown.
Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Nora Dornich
School: Centenary
Class: Sophomore
Position: Midfield
Hometown: Belvidere, N.J.
High School: Belvidere
Brief Outlook of Week: Dornich paced the Cyclones with five caused turnovers and four ground balls in a 1-0 week. The sophomore helped a defense that allowed just four goals in the 16-4 victory over Albertus Magnus. Dornich also had a hand in the offense with four goals and two assists in the contest.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Catriona Corrigan (Jr., Goalkeeper, Neumann: Corrigan made 16 saves in a 1-1 week for the Knights. She made nine saves in a loss to Juniata and made seven saves with a win over Notre Dame (Md.)
Trista Hough (So., Midfield, Centenary): Hough had a great start to the season with seven goals in a 1-0 week for the Cyclones. The sophomore also tallied four caused turnovers, six draw controls won and six groundballs in the win over Albertus Magnus.
Kaitlyn Smith (So., Midfield, Marywood): Smith had an all-around effort with 10 goals, two assists for 12 points, in addition to six ground balls, five caused turnovers and 10 draw controls. The sophomore midfielder scored six goals and an assist in the Pacers' 23-12 win over Sage. She matched a career high of eight draw controls against the Gators. In a come-from-behind overtime loss to Lebanon Valley, Smith provided five points (4g-1a), four ground balls, and three caused turnovers. Smith joined teammate Avery Meighan in becoming the 17th and 18th members of the 100 Point Club during the win over Sage.
Natalie Yilanjian (So., Attack, Marywood): Yilanjian helped the Pacers to a 1-1 week with four caused turnovers, four draw controls and six ground balls. In the Pacers' win over Sage, she caused three turnovers. The sophomore attack collected four ground balls and three draw controls. Yilanjian provided the Pacers with two ground balls and a caused turnover in an overtime loss to Lebanon Valley. For the week, Yilanjian totaled eight goals and three assists for 11 points.
