Immaculata's Murray and Marywood's Scala Named Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Lacrosse weekly award winners on Tuesday, as Immaculata’s Jacki Murray and Marywood’s Jenna Scala earn Player and Defensive Player of the week honors respectively.  

Player of the Week:
Name: Jacki Murray
School: Immaculata
Class: Senior
Position: Midfield
Hometown: Malvern, Pa.
High School: Villa Maria
Brief Outlook of Week: Murray had seven goals, two assists, nine points, six ground balls, one caused turnover, and set an Immaculata single-game program record with 19 draw controls in the Mighty Macs 24-16 win over Lycoming College on March 27th .

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Jenna Scala
School: Marywood
Class: First Year
Position: Goalkeeper
Hometown: Pompton Lakes, N.J.
High School: Middle Township
Brief Outlook of Week: Scala made 13 saves to secure the Pacers' 14-9 win over Alvernia. Scala had a .591 save percentage for the game.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Taylor Chepren (Jr., Attack, Marymount): Junior Taylor Chepren collected 11 total points across the Saints' 1-1 week, including a decisive win over Chatham on Saturday. Notching five goals and six assists, Chepren put up a career-high eight points in Saturday's win with two goals and six assists. Across the week she added four total ground balls.

Abby Dunn (Jr., Defense, Marymount): Dunn continued to be a force on the defensive end for the Saints across their 1-1 week. The junior caused a total of five turnovers, picked up six ground balls, and collected nine draw controls across the two matchups.

Olivia Little (Gr., Attack, Cabrini): Little had a game-high 6 points in Cabrini's 15-7 home victory over Rowan University. Little notched 2 goals and 4 assists, while bringing in 5 ground balls and 4 draw controls.

Kaitlyn Smith (So., Midfield, Marywood): Smith led the Pacers to a 14-9 win over Alvernia with six goals and an assist for seven points. She added three ground balls, two caused turnovers and two draw controls. Trailing 8-7 in the second half, Smith scored the tying goal and latter added back-to-back goals in a 46-second span to break the game open.
