LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Baseball weekly award winners on Monday, as Marymount’s Alec Reilly and David Muirhead swept of Player and Pitcher of the Week honors respectively.
Player of the Week:
Name: Alec Reilly
School: Marymount
Class: Fifth Year
Position: Outfield
Hometown: Springfield, Va.
High School: West Springfield
Brief Outlook of Week: Outfielder Alec Reilly had a historic week for the Saints, keeping Marymount on their hot streak winning four games. Hitting .583 while slugging 1.417, the fifth-year knocked two home runs against the Griffins to help Marymount induce the sweep, while recording the first-ever cycle in Marymount baseball history on Sunday. He drove in seven RBI across the successful week.
Pitcher of the Week:
Name: David Muirhead
School: Marymount
Class: Junior
Position: Pitcher
Hometown: Manassas, Va.
High School: Osbourn
Brief Outlook of Week: Muirhead pitched a complete game gem in Saturday's series opening win over the Griffins. Going the distance with 7.0 innings, the junior allowed no earned runs while striking out five, allowing just five hits.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Joe Boccio (So., Infielder, Neumann): Boccio hit .348 (8-for-23) in five games in a 2-3 week for the Knights. Four of his eight hits were doubles. He also scored six runs and knocked in five. In the final game over Cabrini, the sophomore went 3-for-5 , scored two runs and knocked in three in a 10-5 win.
Josh Crowding (Gr., Catcher, Immaculata): Crowding hit a combined 6-for-12, with four runs scored, three home runs, and four RBIs over three games for Immaculata. Crowding went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, a home run, and one RBI in the team's win over Centenary on April 9th. In the teams' doubleheader vs Elizabethtown on April 13th, Crowding went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs in game one, and 3-for-5 with a solo home run in game two.
Jaden Dickerson (Jr., Catcher, Cabrini): The Cavaliers' infielder, Dickerson, had a five hit weekend that featured a homerun and two doubles. He'd hit .400 and slug .867, contributing five runs, six RBIs, and a stolen base.
