Neumann's Fagan and Cabrini's Gallagher Named Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Lacrosse weekly honors with Neumann's Fagan and Cabrini's Gallagher earning Player and Defensive Player of the week honors respectively. 

Player of the Week:
Name: Lindsey Fagan
School: Neumann
Class: Senior
Position: Attack
Hometown: Norwood, Pa.
High School: Bonner-Prendergast
Brief Outlook of Week: Fagan led the Knights with 24 points in a 2-1 Atlantic East week for Neumann. The senior scored 16 goals and added eight assists while adding 11 draw controls and eight ground balls. In a 20-7 win over Centenary, Fagan tallied seven goals and added two assists. She added nine shots on goal, five draw controls and three ground balls. In a loss at Immaculata, the senior scored five goals and added an assist. In the 18-7 win over Gwynedd Mercy, Fagan scored her 200th career goal on her second of four goals in the game. She also dished out five assists.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Caroline Gallagher
School: Cabrini
Class: Senior
Position: Defense
Hometown: Cape May Court House, Pa.
High School: Middle Township
Brief Outlook of Week: Gallagher aided Cabrini's defensive efforts as the Cavaliers surrendered just 3 goals across two games this week. Gallagher recorded season best defensive stat totals in the latest win, collecting 9 ground balls, 5 caused turnovers, and 3 draw controls in the game. The senior also tallied 5 points on the week by way of 4 goals and a helper.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Bailey Gehler (Gr., Midfield, Marymount): While posting three goals, midfielder Bailey Gehler showed out on the defensive end of the field for the Saints in their 19-7 win over Marywood on Saturday. She caused a pair of turnovers, picking up four ground balls, while securing four draw controls in the win.

Olivia Little (Gr., Attack, Cabrini): Little led Cabrini in scoring to close out the Cavs' conference slate. She recorded 15 points by way of 6 goals and 9 assists, while adding 2 caused turnovers and 6 draw controls on the defensive end.

Avery Meighan (So., Midfield, Marywood): Goalkeeper Meighan posted 10 goals and five assists for 15 points as the Pacers split a pair of Atlantic East contests. Additionally, she collected 20 draw controls and nine ground balls. In a win over Gwynedd Mercy, Meighan scored seven goals and four assists for 11 points. She picked up 14 draw controls against the Griffins. Meighan scored three goals and an assist in a loss to Marymount.
