Gwynedd Mercy Hughes and Marywood's Ericson Earn Men's Larcosse Weekly Honors

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week on Tuesday for the week ending on April 9th. Gwynedd Mercy Richie Hughes was named Player of the Week, while Marywood Nick Ericson earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Hometown:  Turnersville, N.J.
High School:  Washington Township
Brief Outlook of Week:  Hughes led Gwynedd Mercy to a overtime conference win over Marymount. The junior tallied six points on five goals and an assist, his goals included the deciding goal 1:13 into the overtime period to give Gwynedd Mercy the 17-16 victory and stay undefeated in conference play.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Nick Ericson
School: Marywood
Class: Junior
Position: Midfield/ Faceoff Specialist
Hometown:  Downington, Pa.
High School:  Downington East
Brief Outlook of Week Ericson matched a pair of Marywood single-game records in a 25-4 win over Centenary. He won 26-29 faceoff attempts in the contest for a success rate of 89.6% to match his own record set last season. Ericson also collected 15 ground balls and a goal.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Jack Williams (Jr., Attack, Marymount): Williams was a key to the Marymount offense as he tallied five goals and three assists in the overtime loss to Gwynedd Mercy.
