Cabrini's McManus and Evan Motta Earn Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honors

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week on Monday for the week ending on March 5th. Cabrini’s Dillon McManus was named Player of the Week, while Marymount’s Evan Motta was named Defensive Player of the Week.

High School:  Half Hollow Hills West
Brief Outlook of Week:  In a tough contest against ranked Dickinson, McManus had a strong offensive push for the Cavaliers. The senior tallied three goals and an assist for four points in the lone contest of the week. McManus also picked up three ground balls and one caused turnover.


Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Evan Motta
School: Marymount
Class: Senior
Position: Defense
Hometown:  Arlington, Va.   
High School:  Bishop O’Connell
Brief Outlook of Week Motta caused eight turnovers including a career-high six in win against previously-unbeaten Manhattanville on Saturday. Motta also picked up one groundball and helped the Saints to a perfect penalty kill for the week.


Weekly Honor Roll:

Ciaran Connolly (Fy., Attack, Marymount): Connolly, a first-year attack, scored six goals last week, including four in a 13-7 win over previously-unbeaten Manhattanville. He also added. Two groundballs and one caused turnover. Through four games, the rookie has 13 goals and one assist, ranking third in the conference with 3.25 goals per game.
