Neumann's Boschi and Methlie Sweep Men's Lacrosse Weekly Awards

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week on Monday as Neumann teammates Brendan Boschi and Jake Methlie earned Player and Defensive Player of the Week respectively.


Player of the Week:
Name: Brendan Boschi
School: Neumann
Class: First Year
Position: Attack
Hometown:  Litchfield, N.H.   
High School:  Campbell
Brief Outlook of Week:  Boschi scored eight goals and tallied three assists in a 2-0 week for the Knights. In a 13-3 home opener win on Wednesday the first year scored five goals and added three assists. He followed that with three goals and an assist in a 10-2 win at Wilkes on Saturday. He finished with 19 shots, 13 on net, and four ground balls. Two of his goals were the game winning goals for the Knights.   


Defensive Player of the Week:
Name: Jake Methlie
School: Neumann
Class: Sophomore
Position: Midfielder
Hometown:  Springfield, Pa.  
High School:  Springfield
Brief Outlook of Week Methlie won 19 out 25 face-offs as the Knights went 2-0. In a 13-3 win over King’s, the sophomore went 11-for-13 in the face-ff circle, grabbed six ground balls and caused a turnover. He followed by going 8-for-12 in a 10-2 win at Wilkes. He added another six ground balls  


Weekly Honor Roll:

Joseph Santilli (So., Defense, Immaculata): Santilli collected six ground balls and two caused turn overs in Immaculata’s win over Cairn. The win was the first shutout in program history as the Mighty Mac’s earned the 16-0 victory on Saturday, February 25th.

 

Jack Williams (Jr., Attack, Marymount): Williams led the Saints with six points on Saturday against Messiah, all of which game on assists. Through two weeks play Williams leads the Atlantic East with 11 assists. The Junior also collected seven ground balls and caused two turnovers.
