Eastern's Green and Schellpeper Sweep Women's Flag Football Weekly Award Honors

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women’s Flag Football weekly award winners on Monday as Eastern’s Kira Green was named Player of the Week and Molly Schellpeper was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Player of the Week: Kira Green
School: Eastern
Class: Sophomore
Position: Quarterback
Hometown: Pequa, Pa.
High School: Penn Manor
Brief Outlook of Week: Green completed 50-of-65 passes, averaging a near 77% passing percentage, totaling 459 yards and seven touchdowns in a pair of convincing league wins over Neumann and Holy Family. She also ran for 73 yards and three scores.  

Defensive Player of the Week: Molly Schellpeper
School: Eastern
Class: Freshman
Position: Defensive Back
Hometown: Golden, Colo.
High School: Arvada West
Brief Outlook of Week: Schellpeper made four tackles and made five interceptions as the Eastern defense garnered two more shutout wins. She also caught a pair of touchdowns on offense. 

Weekly Honor Roll:
Kaylah Barr, Marymount:
Barr notched 10 total flag pulls, nine unassisted, across the Saints 3-1 week. The two-way added two broken up passes and an interception to her credit.

Jesenia Velez, Marymount: She scored 10 total touchdowns as a runner, receiver and passer. Over the four games, Velez passed for three touchdowns and 167 yards, rushed for 316 yards and five touchdowns, and caught two touchdowns for 112 yards.
