Women's Flag Football All-Conference Announced

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women's Flag Football All-Conference teams and major awards on Tuesday, The All-Conference teams are voted on by the league's head coaches.

Marymount’s Jesenia Velez was tabbed Offensive Player of the Year. The freshman, in conference play, rushed for 437 yards, picking up nine rushing touchdowns. On the ground, the freshman averaged 39.7 yards per game. She posted 20 receptions with four touchdowns, averaging 21.8 yards per reception. Velez also returned 10 punts for 234 yards and one touchdown. Contributing one interception defensively, the freshman was able to pick up 18 yards on that play. Across all the Saint’s games played, Velez posted 693 yards from receptions with seven touchdowns, while carrying for 1098 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Kyla Massenburg of Eastern received the Defensive Player of the Year award after helping the Eagles to the top seed in AEC postseason play. Across her 20 games played this season, she recorded 113 solo tackles and five tackle assists, totaling 118 tackles on the season. Massenburg posted 24 sacks for a combined loss of 108 total yards. She posted a season high 14 tackles against Centenary in March.

Garnering Rookie of the Year honors was Penn State Schuylkill’s Miranda Morstatt, a freshman from Kempton, Pa. Morstatt had a very strong showing both in conference play and non-conference as well. On the defensive side of things Morstatt recorded 62 solo tackles and had four tackle assists for a total of 66 tackles. She added 11 interceptions, totaling 178 yards from those plays, and broke up 23 passes. Offensively, the freshman posted 103 receptions, piling up a staggering 1185 yards, averaging 53.9 per game, scoring 10 touchdowns. When combined with her rushing yards, Morstatt posted 1260 yards of offense during her freshman campaign.

Cara Vollmer, a Marymount standout, took home the Atlantic East Elite Scholar Athlete Award. This honor is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing at the finals site at each of the Atlantic East’s championships. Vollmer is majoring in Elementary Education and holds a strong 3.888 GPA. Full criteria can be found here.

The Coaching Staff of the Year was awarded to Marymount after winning the championship once again. Led by Head Coach Michael Rivera, the Saints posted a 14-2 record in conference play, adding on two more wins from the 12 of last year. Rivera was awarded co-coaching staff of the year in the 2025 season.
