HADDONFIELD, N.J. - The Atlantic East Conference announced the Field Hockey weekly award winners on Monday, as Marywood’s Brooke Barwick and Neumann’s Caley Gee both took home their second Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week awards this season.
Player of the Week: Brooke Barwick
School: Marywood
Class: Sophomore
Position: Forward
Hometown: Sunbury, Pa.
High School: Line Mountain
Brief Outlook of Week: Barwick had a goal and an assist in both of Marywood's 3-0 wins this week. She scored the second goal before providing an assist on the insurance goal, leading the Pacers to a 3-0 win over Immaculata in a 2024 Atlantic East championship rematch. In Marywood's 3-0 shutout over Manhattanville, the sophomore once again scored the second goal of the match before providing the assist on the final goal.
Defensive Player of the Week: Caley Gee
School: Neumann
Class: Senior
Position: Goalie
Hometown: Baldwinsville, N.Y.
High School: Charles W. Baker
Brief Outlook of Week: Gee recorded eight saves in a critical 3-1 win over Gwynedd Mercy as Neumann took home a win in its only match of the week. The senior was able to stave off a late comeback attempt from the Griffins, recording five of her eight saves in the fourth quarter.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Alexis Andrada, Immaculata: Andrada scored her team-leading 11th goal of the season this weekend before assisting on the game-winning goal in overtime as Immaculata earned a 3-2 victory over Gwynedd Mercy to clinch a spot in the AEC playoffs.
Hannah Doherty, Manhattanville: Doherty made 15 saves on the week, pushing her career tally to over 150. The junior recorded her second shutout of the season on Tuesday in a 2-0 win at Cedar Crest, making six saves. She then tallied nine more stops in a hard fought loss at Marywood.
Liv Rosengrant, Marywood: Rosengrant helped the Marywood defense to a pair of 3-0 shutouts in Atlantic East play. She kept Immaculata out of the cage, despite 12 shots on goal, in the Pacers win. The Dalton, Pa., native had a diving defensive save in the first quarter of Saturday's victory over Manhattanville, moving into a tie for sixth all-time at Marywood with 10 career defensive saves.
Meghan Sheldrick, Neumann: Sheldrick scored two goals in a midweek 3-1 win over Gwynedd Mercy. The sophomore scored the game winning goal in the 34th minute and went on to secure her brace just over one minute later, putting the Knights up 3-0 in the 3rd quarter.
