Marymount's Johnson and Cabrini's Byrnes Each Collect Third Softball Weekly Honor of the Season

LANCASTER, Pa. -  The Atlantic East Conference announced the Softball Players of the Week for weeks games through Sunday, April 9th Kaylynn Johnson of Marymount won her third Player of the Week honor, while Cabrini’s Avery Byrnes takes her third pitcher of the week honors.

School: Marymount

Hometown: Alexandria, Va.

Brief Outlook of Week:  Johnson went 7-for-13 from the plate for the week with a home run and a double. The junior crossed the plate seven times and tallied 10 RBIs. Overall Johnson batted .538 and slugged .846.

Pitcher of the Week:
Name: Avery Byrnes  
School: Cabrini
Class: Senior
Position: Pitcher
Hometown: Beach, Lake, Pa.  
High School: Honesdale
Brief Outlook of Week: Brynes threw a complete game 2-hit shutout against Marywood in Cabrini’s 10-0 victory on April 3rd. She followed that up with her fifth career no hitter against Neumann on April 5th. In the Neumann contest she punched out eight on her way to her seventh win of the season.

Weekly Honor Roll:
Ashdon Clark (Sr., C/1B, Marywood): Clark batted 3-for-6 with three runs, two RBIs and seven total bases. In a 9-2 victory as part of a split against Cabrini, she hit a double and a home run. The sophomore slugged 1.167 on the week.

Ally McDaid (So., Outfield, Gwynedd Mercy): McDaid was 6-for-10 with a pair of RBI in a 3-for-3 effort that powered the Griffins to a 5-2 game-two win over Immaculata. She was also 3-for-7 with two runs in a doubleheader sweep of Valley Forge.
