LANCASTER, Pa. -  The Atlantic East Conference announced the Softball Players of the Week for weeks games through Sunday, March 12th. Gwynedd Mercy’s Grace Scally and Immaculata’s Courtney Gable were named Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively. 

Player of the Week:
Name: Grace Scally
School: Gwynedd Mercy
Class: Junior
Position: Infield
Hometown:  Philadelphia, PA 
High School:  John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls’
Brief Outlook of Week:  Scally in five games this week had a batting average of .688 on 11-16 from the plate.(team-high). Scally also had a team-high nine runs-batted-in and 1-1 on stolen bases. Scally also appeared in a game on the mound this week going four innings, striking out three and an ERA of 1.75.

 

Pitcher of the Week:
Name: Courtney Gable
School: Immaculata
Class: Sophomore
Position: Pitcher
Hometown:  Kimberton, PA
High School:  Phoenixville
Brief Outlook of Week: Pitched a complete game shutout on March 9th vs. Wilkes University allowing five hits, and allowed no walks.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Kaylee Atkins (Fr., 1B, Marymount): Atkins went 2-for-4, including a walk-off RBI double, in a 3-2 win for the Saints on Thursday over Shenandoah.

Bryele Anthony (So., Outfield, Immaculata): Went 9-for-15, with a batting average of .600, a slugging % of .600, and an OB% of .647 while scoring seven runs and had eight stolen bases in four games at the Fast Pitch Dreams Spring Classic.

Shanyn Burch (Jr., Pitcher, Marymount): Burch threw all eight innings in a 3-2 win over Shenandoah on Thursday. The junior only allowed one earned run and scattered just six hits. Burch has been the winning pitcher for all three Marymount wins this season.
